We are excited to announce that Spiritual Playdate
has become a partner for kids' programs for this year's Parliament of the World's Religions (PoWR) convening. This amazing event will be hosted at McCormick Place, Chicago, from August 14-18, 2023.
Kids Of PoWR In the interest of promoting religious literacy and sharing character-building programming for youth, we are inviting faith-based groups and organizations, including Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Humanists, Indigenous Peoples, Jains, Jews, Muslims, Pagans, Sikhs, Wiccans, Zoroastrians, and other religious friends to participate in this exciting opportunity!
Call for Programs PoWR Stations or Super Power Stations
We are calling for interactive and experiential programs and activities for kids 4-17 years of age.
Power Stations
At this year's PoWR event, your group can host a PoWR Station booth where you can run an ongoing family friendly craft or activity that reflects a principal teaching of your religion. It's a great chance to showcase a jewel from your faith teaching at the Parliament, and a unique opportunity to educate and engage children and families.
To host a PoWR Station, please ensure that your activity meets the following criteria
- Age-appropriate for ages 4 -17
- Appealing to adults, as well as children
- Experiential and educational in nature
- Executed at a reasonable pace and in a marked 15 x 15 foot area
- Parliament will supply 15x15 space, two 6' tables, 2 chairs and signage
- Set up and break down their own stations, as well as supply at least one facilitator or volunteer at their stations during Parliament hours. Set up Sunday, Aug 13
- Programs run Mon, Aug 14 ~ Friday Aug 18 ~ Hours TBD
- Activities can be faith-specific or interfaith in nature and demonstrate faith traditions, but should relate back to one or more of the Parliament tracks/themes* as well adhere to the directives of Global Ethic**
Super Power Stations
Super Power Stations consist of any larger or scheduled programs such as performances, workshops, demonstrations, or major interactive activities. ________________________________________________________
